CV ACTIVA creates the guide and seal "Valencia: safe and active province"

•    The active tourism association of the Region of Valencia has prepared a guide of best practices and recommendations for COVID-19 to help all the companies in the sector to implement the necessary health and hygiene measures.

•    The interactive guide consists of a self-assessment test: after analysing what specific measures a company should, it then receives a seal that functions as a certificate, verifying that what it does complies with current regulations.

In order to counteract the negative impact of COVID-19 on the tourist sector in Valencia, and to boost consumption of tourist products and experiences in the province, the active tourism association of the Region of Valencia, CV ACTIVA, is promoting a guide for best practices and recommendations for COVID-19.

Turismo Activo y Seguro

Safe and Active Tourism

The project, sponsored by the Regional Ministry of Tourism of Valencia, is an advisory one and works as a set of optional guidelines to be used alongside government directives. “We at the association believe that it is necessary to inform all companies so they don't get left behind in adapting to the new reality”, said Fernando Falomir, chairman of the regional association.

When the online assessment is completed and passed, company receives a "seal" with the slogan "Valencia, Safe and Active Tourism", that corroborates the health protocol certification and implementation process. “Having this interactive guide in web format enables us to attach self-evaluation files so companies can check the measures they are implementing and the ones they aren't, and identify which ones they have to adapt to the specific nature of their business”, explained the association chairman.

The activities that the association is currently involved in include a recently created website (www.buenaspracticasturismoactivo.com) where the guide and self-assessment files are kept for filling in and automatic download. The association has also adapted the guide's measures and recommendations to the experiences that are most commonly offered and that have the greatest demand.

The secretary of CV ACTIVA told us that they have already started a communication campaign to promote the efforts being made in the province to ensure that “tourists who decide to come here can feel the peace of mind that comes from knowing that active tourism companies in Valencia respect the protocols and that these firms can be identified with the seal”. Tools like these really do help to improve best practices in tourism and promote the region.
